Nothing is lost…everything is transformed and this quote is also true for many primers and especially chains. Maëlle gives you here some tips to use your small pieces of chains and thus complete your jewelry collection!
Since I started making jewelry I have carefully kept all the pieces of chains, links, rosary chains... and we are going to show you how to use them.
The rings:
Simply measure the size of your finger and transfer the measurement to the pieces of chain you have. Open a ring and use it to connect the pieces of chain. And there you have it….
For an even more stunning effect, stack these small rings by varying the chains you have.
The mixandmatch:
That is to say, recreate a bracelet or a necklace chain by combining different pieces of chains and mixing textures. This will highlight a chain, a stone color...
Natural stone rosary chains:
Since the first link is often not usable, I also carefully keep each little stone! And yes, even a small pearl can be kept and reused.
So if one of my stones breaks in a bracelet or necklace I can replace the broken stone by creating a new beaded link.
For this I use 0.4 mm flexible brass wire, I create a loop with mini pliers or the smallest part of round pliers, I connect my link to my chain then I make a few turns around the wire to tighten and close my loop. With flat pliers I slightly crush my wire so that it is as discreet as possible.
The fringes:
As a creole earring or necklace...by mixing pearls and chains, the fringes will bring a bohemian side to your creations.
For a graphic side, the fringes can be in a gradient of length, making them very useful for reusing different pieces of chain.
You can also mix chains with Miyuki Beads threaded on wires.
Very beautiful creations and good recycling!
