In this tutorial I give you the measurements for making a 40cm choker necklace, plus 5cm of adjustment with the extension chain. Feel free to modify the measurements to your size. You can even make this necklace entirely out of pearls for a maxi mother-of-pearl effect!

To begin, cut a nylon thread of approximately 30cm (adapt the length to your stringing, here we have made a string of 20cm beads).

Cut 2 pieces of chain of about 10cm. Here is the size for a choker necklace, adapt the length to your desire.

Start threading...

Thread a crimp bead onto the nylon thread, pass the thread through the last link of the chain and then pass it back through the crimp bead. Bring it back towards the link and flatten it.

Now thread a round gold-plated brass bead, a mother-of-pearl bead, a round bead... Here we have threaded 7 mother-of-pearl beads alternating with gold beads. Finish with a gold bead.

Then to finish the threading, place a crimp bead, pass it through the link of the second chain then pass it through the bead again. Pull on the wire to bring the threading back towards the link of the chain. Before flattening the crimp bead, make sure to keep the bead threading flexible and mobile. Do not give too much tension between the beads! Crush the bead with flat pliers.

Finally, cut a piece of extension of about 5cm and connect it to the end of the chain with a 3mm ring. On the other side, connect the clasp with a 3mm ring.

To embellish the extension chain you can mount a small mother-of-pearl pearl on a nail.
