Brick Stitch weaving

You want to start weaving  Brick Stitch?
It's quite simple, with this tutorial discover the basic technique to get started.
You can then make brooches, pendants, earrings, etc.
Here we go!

For this  technique you need:

of the  Miyuki delica beads
a needle
nylon thread

Step 1:

To begin, cut a piece of nylon thread and thread it onto a beading needle.

Afterwards  Place the first row of beads so that they are positioned side by side vertically.

Step 2:

Then, to mount the following rows, thread the bead, pass through the wire bridge below then pass through the bead again.

Increase at the beginning and end of the row:

To increase at the beginning of a row, thread 2 beads, pass through the bridge below then pass through the 2nd bead.

To make an increase at the end of the row, thread the bead, pass through the previous bridge below then pass through the bead again.

Watch the video below to see the assembly.

Invisible decrease at the start of the row:

To make a decrease without visible thread on the outside, thread 2 beads then pass through the 2nd bridge from below and pass through the 2nd bead again.

See diagram below.

What if I need to extend my wire?

If your yarn is too short to complete the weaving, be sure to first  keep about 15cm of wire. Then pass the wire through the previous beads following a path that can go diagonally to jump from one row to another.

Thread a new thread then go back through the previous rows diagonally to block the new thread and come out where you left off.

How to finish weaving?

In  Brick Stitch there is no knot to start or finish the weaving. To finish the weaving, go back through the previous beads and rows in several directions so that the thread blocks the beads.

Do the same with the starting wire.

And there you have it!
