Explanations:

To begin, hold the ring on its side with flat pliers. Place it in the slot corresponding to its thickness. Position the ring opening at the edge of the ring slot.

Then make a lateral movement to open the ring.

Do the reverse movement to close it.

Please note that it is still preferable to check and adjust the closure of the rings in the traditional way with the two flat pliers.
